A Fresh Start

If you’ve been reading conscious-growth.com for awhile, you’ll know that my posts tend to be all across the board.  I have some serious ones, some ridiculous ones, and some that just shouldn’t have been posted in the first place.

Everyday it’s been a struggle to write, I’ve been scatter-brained, unorganized, and unmotivated.  I keep getting caught up in new money-making strategies, and new faster ways to grow a blog.

I’m a planner, and if you’re like me, you know exactly what I mean.  I make endless plans of what I’m going to do, spending hours of my time making my beautiful, fail-proof plans, and never following through with any of them.

And because of that, my online business has been failing miserably, and so have many parts of my life.  I’m unhappy, and seeing very little results.

I’ve been doing a lot of soul searching lately, trying to figure out what would make me happy.  What I could do everyday, and feel good about?  What would motivate me to finally take action?  I’ve come to the decision that I need to start over from scratch, and make a blog that I can be proud of.  A blog that can change lives.  A blog that is actually useful.

I’ve been writing for traffic, for leads, for money, and for a suite of other stupid things.  And for all of my “efforts” I’ve got a blog with dismal traffic, and relatively no value.  (Which is not what I set out to do… not at all…)

When I started this blog, I was naive to blogging and what it took to succeed.  I had mixed up ideas on how things would work, and what I could expect.  And I got lost in get rich schemes that has left me broke.  In more ways than one…

Now I am a year older, a year wiser, and I am refocusing my efforts in ways that will not only produce results, but give you the most value.  I have spent tens of thousands of dollars in online business courses and packages, and while I never really put any of them to practical use, I’ve gleaned away the golden nuggets that I plan to share here, with you.

Enough about new beginnings, it’s time to get down to brass tacks.  (Which is a phrase that I’ve never really understood… ;) )

So here’s what you can expect for here on out:

1.  New Blog, New Focus, New Voice

I used to spend the majority of my time on this blog making it look good, filling it with unfocused ideas, and writing in a way that I thought that other readers wanted to read.  Not so anymore.

I will be taking all of my previous posts and putting them onto a free wordpress blog on wordpress.com.  You can feel free to read my previous articles there.  There is some value to be had there, and I don’t want to take that away from you.

The post that you are reading right now is the first post for my “new” blog,  (I am keeping the same domain, and probably the same design for awhile to come…. Those are two things that I did like about my blog. ; )

This blog will be conscious-growth.com “Personal Development for Entrepreneurs.”

While you may not be an entrepreneur, the topics that you can find here will still benefit you.  (And right now, you probably asking “how would that work?”)

Take a minute to think about what an entrepreneur needs to focus on:  Productivity, Time Management, Balance, and nearly everything personal development.

I firmly believe that the more you focus on personal development, the further you can go into life.  You can develop an amazing work ethic, obtain true happiness, and learn how to navigate this life easier and more efficiently.

The more you develop yourself, the better.

Consider the alternative.  You stumble through this life with illusions of reality, making stupid decisions, and generally living in an unhappy state.  If that is truly what you want to experience in this life, then by all means, go for it.

But if your a little more sane, like the rest of us, this blog will cater to you.

Topics will include:

  • Blogging
  • Marketing
  • Writing
  • Productivity
  • Personal Development Tech
  • Exploration of Consciousness and Reality
  • Emotions
  • Motivation
  • Passion
  • People Skills
  • Communication
  • Goals and Goal Setting
  • Getting Things Done
  • Business
  • Balance
  • Purpose
  • Relationships
  • Success Building
  • Planning
  • Problem Solving
  • Physic Development
  • Health
  • Purpose
  • Sleep
  • And many many more (Seriously, I can pick like 15 more topics to write on… ;)

Another noticeable change will be my tone of voice.  I seriously spent hours going over the text that I had written making sure that it would be acceptable for all audiences.  And let me tell you, it was not fun.

From now on, I will be writing in my own voice.  It’s going to take some getting used to or both of us, but I don’t want to create something artificial here.  I want you to be able to see the real me, and everything in between  (which sounds weird when I say it like that… ;) )

2.  Quality Posts that Matter

Blogging is an art form.  And if you don’t believe that, head on over to wordpress.com and start one of your own for free and see how that goes.

It takes time to develop a good blogging style and rhythm.  It takes time and practice to make your posts useful and practical, let alone developing a good sense of flow.

And it comes with TONS of practice.  The best bloggers out there have hundreds of posts on their blogs, and every post they focus on making better than the last one.  After a some time passes, they start to internalize certain blogging tools of the trade, and then you can really see a difference.

Their posts just seem to flow, and you want to keep reading.  They know how to create value that is easily digested by the public.

Writing is a craft, and one of the biggest crafts in blogging.  One that continually needs to be improved and focused on.

From now on you can expect posts that matter.  Posts that will have impact and meaning.  Posts that are useful.  I might fail here and there, but I want you to know that I will be continually focusing and improving not only for my sake, but for yours as well.

3.  Social Presence

Just like my blogging, my social presence has been scatter-brained as well.  While this blog will be the main focus of my efforts, I intend to have a big social presence.  From Twitter to Facebook and everything in between, you can expect to see me there, posting value content, and posting regularly.

The reason for this is twofold:

  • I want to put as much value into the internet as possible, to benefit as many people as possible,
  • And it will be good practice for me to continue developing my art.
  • (Plus it will be fun to get to know you all on a more personal level like that… ;)

4.  Interactivity

In terms of interacting with me, I have done a terrible job, and I know it.

As one of the new purposes of this blog, you can expect every e-mail to be answered (until it gets to the point where I literally can’t anymore)

You can expect nearly every comment to be replied to, and that goes for my social presence as well.  It will be harder for me to keep track of my social presence, but I’m working up a system that will help.

I want to interact with you, the reader.  My dear reader…

Why?

If the purpose of this blog is to help people, then what better way than on a personal level?  I want to personally help you grow.  I want to be there for you.  And I want to grow WITH you.

5.  Experiments

There are literally hundreds of personal growth experiments out there to try, and I’ve tried a few in the solitude of my own home.

No more.

Every experiment that I try, I will be posting about here.  I”ll keep detailed logs of what helped, what didn’t, and how I’m doing.

One of the first experiments I am going to try (or re-try, I guess I should say), is polyphasic sleep.  I don’t want to use the space in this post to tell you about polyphasic sleep, but I’ve written a good intro article to it, which you can find here:

Polyphasic Sleep

My last attempt failed, and I still feel to this day that I have unfinished business in that area.  Plus, it will give me even more time to develop this blog and breathe new life into it.

Here are some links to successful polyphasers… if you’re interested in taking a vacation from sleep. ;)

Polyphasic Sleep: Steve Pavlina

Polyphasic Sleep: PureDoxyk

Polyphasic Sleep: Tes

And if you have any experiments that you would like to see tried, feel free to e-mail me at wawomack7@gmail.com.  I’d be happy to be your guinea pig. ;)

6.  Transparency, Honesty, and Integrity

Too many blogs are being made for the sole purpose of yanking money out of your wallet.  Not this one, and not ever.

I will never make a recommendation to a product unless I personally believe in it.  And even then you can expect a brutally honest review of it.  Because some products will work well for some people, and some won’t, and I will be the middle man to help you decide.

I promise to always be completely open, honest, and transparent with you.  I feel like we can’t have a trusting relationship that will benefit us both unless I do that for you.

I have nothing to hide from you, and nothing to keep from you.  We’ve all done things that we aren’t proud of, and we are all still doing things that we wish we wouldn’t.  And that’s okay.  It’s all part of learning to grow and evolve past them.  Learning how to lean on and trust others is part of that process.

It makes us stronger, and it helps us to grow faster.

If you choose to judge me for it, that’s fine.  What matters is how I feel about myself, and that I don’t feel then need to protect my ego by putting up a false image.  If that is something that you feel you need to do, then go ahead, but it’s not for me, and it’s not for this blog.

The Wrap-up.

Well, that’s about it for the new and improved conscious-growth.com.  I’m sure I’ll come back and add some more later, as I develop a new focus and a new direction.  I hope we can share this journey together.

And I want you to know, as cheesy as this sounds, and as weird as it might make you feel inside, I love you.  Even though I have probably never met you, and I probably never will, I genuinely care about your well-being, and I’m here to help.

Talk to you Guys Soon,

Will
